We are seeking an experienced Insurance Defense Attorney to join our growing team in Chicago, Illinois. This is a fantastic opportunity to take on complex and challenging legal matters in a fast-paced, collaborative environment.
As an Insurance Defense Attorney, you will represent clients in a wide range of insurance-related litigation matters, including personal injury, property damage, and professional liability cases. The successful candidate will be responsible for handling cases from inception to resolution, including drafting pleadings, conducting discovery, taking and defending depositions, and representing clients in court.
Represent insurance carriers, businesses, and individual policyholders in various types of civil litigation, with a focus on defense work.
Manage a caseload and provide clients with clear, concise, and strategic legal advice.
Draft and respond to legal motions, pleadings, and other correspondence.
Conduct depositions, hearings, and trials.
Collaborate with senior attorneys and other professionals to develop case strategies.
Maintain regular client communication and handle negotiations.
Keep up to date with legal developments and practice trends within insurance defense.
J.D. from an accredited law school and active membership in the Illinois Bar.
2+ years of experience in insurance defense or related litigation.
Strong knowledge of insurance law, civil procedure, and defense strategies.
Proven experience in handling depositions, motions, and court appearances.
Excellent written and oral communication skills.
Ability to work independently as well as collaboratively in a team-oriented environment.
Strong organizational skills and attention to detail.
Salary of $120k-185k+ depending on experience and comprehensive benefits package.
