Position Overview
As a Superintendent, you'll provide engineering and project support for our heavy highway construction projects. You'll need to maintain a thorough understanding of contract plans and specifications, including subcontracts and purchase orders, as well as our methods and practices. Ideal candidates will have engineering experience with bridge construction projects for owners such as IDOT and the IL Tollway.

Physcial Demands/Work Environment
In this role, you'll be required to be on-site and access all points of the construction site in various climates and environments. You'll be exposed to outside weather conditions as well as field office environments. Occasionally, you'll assist in transporting materials from our yard to the job site and work 2nd shift during construction stage/phase changes.

Key Responsibilities

• Collaborate with Project Managers, other Superintendents, Foremen, and Crews on the project.
• Schedule and manage material deliveries, ensuring materials received are accompanied by proper certifications per contract documents.
• Compile and maintain project documentation, including daily reports, schedules, and jobsite photos.
• Monitor subcontractors' schedules and progress.
• Order, manage, and balance concrete pours.
• Assist with project closeout, finalizing quantities, and preparing job cost reports.
• Follow our policies and procedures, including safety policies.

Qualifications

• Degree in Civil Engineering, Construction Management, or a related field, OR Heavy Highway Construction experience.
• Must be safety-oriented; 10-hour and 30-hour OSHA certificates are preferred.
• Strong work ethic, willing to do what it takes to get the job done.
• Proficiency with all MS Office products (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Project, etc.).
• Working knowledge of Bluebeam software.
• Ability to assume responsibility and communicate effectively with public body agencies.
